Chromed.
1st issue. Round pin guide.
This example does not have a motor fitted. Wheels painted.
Green body. Grey tonneau.
Produced for use as prizes at various
events and promotional activities. This car could have been what we now
annually see as the 'Range Presentation' car.
Chromed cars from the 60's and 70's quite often have a gold tinge to the
chrome plating.
It
should be noted that with all chromed cars that, unless there is
photographic or other information to substantiate provenance, it is always
a possibility that the car has not been chromed by the Scalextric factory.

Chromed.
Presented as a prize. This was quite a normal practice and has been the
case since the 60's through to the 00's.
Plain bodies cars and their parts would be taken to a local industrial
chrome plater and chromed. The bodies were then assembled. Often, ALL
parts would be chromed - including driver and lights - and sometimes
certain parts would be left as plain plastic or painted.
Other cars from the period (e.g. Mini Cooper) were also chromed.

present at this event.

specific enough, to warrant this special label.
